Day Out

It certainly would be an easy day to get sunburnt but Ana was determined to avoid such a fat if at all possible having applied sunblock onto her skin and wore a light long sleeved top over her bathing suit to provide a little more shade to her pale skin which easily got sunburnt and frankly she was over her skin turning bright red and being sore. Not so long ago Ichigo had been teaching her to try surf as Keigo had done some little bet as to who could which girl to surf first. Ana had managed to catch a wave but she still sucked at it so she had been practicing trying to improve her skill so she could challenge Keigo one day, of course trying to get her balance on a surf board on water that constantly moved was a lot more difficult that she had first thought and while she had not gotten into the water today she would soon enough, or she hoped. Yesterday afternoon she’d had to skip out just as she’d arrived at the beach to go fight a Hollow. Today she hoped it would be different and she’d get to go into the water it looked so inviting and cooling at the moment. Placing her bag down under an umbrella she pulled her towel out and laid it out before she went to apply some more sunblock on, one could never be too careful when it came to the sun. Within moments she was up again and stretching, grabbing a surfboard and hitting the water. Once far enough out she swivelled the board around and looked back to the water when she thought she saw someone she recognised and called out to them waving her hand.

''Hmm...towel...suncream...and...''Orihime began as she packed a bag ready to pay a quick visit to he beach. It was summer and where better to go than the beach she was already very pale but a nice catch of te rays would warm up her complexion just a tad anyway as she wasnt planning to come back looking like a lobster she had made that mistake one summer and turning up to school the next day wasnt fun.


Orihime had gathered everything she would need before she had put on an orange swimsuit a wore a long floor length beach dress and tied her hair up and out of the way before she set out into the warm heat she could feel it as she stepped out he front door.


It was such a nice change to horrible weather it cheered her up, not that she needed cheering up she was already always happy most fof he time. She walked along the path leading ito the town which then lead her to a riverbank she had walked passed here many times but it always made the river look much nicer with the sun bouncing off it.


Orihime looked ahead seing the beach wasnt too far away now she could feel the heat baring down on her she'd need to get in that sea to cool herself down and quick. She removed her sandles to walk in the sand an then stopped seeing how busy it was, a good few people ha the same idea. One of those was Ana, she smiled as she spotted her in the sea she could tell that beautiful red hair anwhere. ''Ana!''Orihime called a she had seen Ana had in fact spotted her too.

Every time she tried this she fell off but she was determined to get this right and challenge Keigo herself next time rather than allow another silly bet between the guys, mind you she wasn’t going to get roped into one of Rangiku’s tricks again… she hoped. Of course she smiled waving her hand over at someone she saw and thankfully it was someone she knew or she would have looked rather silly and stupid. Her face probably would have gone more red than her hair colour. With a grin on her face she was glad to see Orihime, there was so many things she had to catch the girl up on, it was unfair to keep her and the others out of the loop and they would find out sooner or later, she rather avoid Uryu getting angry because her and Ichigo were keeping secrets from them all. But they had good reason too, none the less something this big had to be spoke about and strategy and plans had to be put into place, things were ugly everywhere else it was only a matter of time before it started here and the more everyone knew the better. “Hey ya Orihime!” Ana called out and suddenly wondered if Orihime could surf… oh maybe she couldn’t, hmm perhaps surfing would have to wait then, that was ok though, spending time with a friend was just as good and Orihime was a very dear one to Ana, she was like family. It was not hard to not spot the girl among all the people, her hair was almost the same as Ichigo’s colour simply much longer and better kept and then there was Orihime’s busty chest which anyone could spot not that Ana would ever comment on such a thing, she was not like Rangiku in that manner, not that Ana looked or anything. Ana though had to get over to her friend first and before she could even contemplate catching a wave one struck up under her sending her board one way and Ana in the other direction as she crashed into the water, tumbled a little from the end of the wave and then surfaced coughing slightly before going slightly red, yea that would have looked rather silly. Swimming over to her board she grabbed a hold and headed to shallow water before standing and dropping her board on the sand “Haha… still haven’t gotten the hang of this yet” Ana said blushing slightly though also scowled before her expression lightened “How are you Orihime, do you surf too?” not that Ana could really say she surfed herself because let’s face it she was utterly hopeless at this.

Orihime lowered her hand hoping she had seen her or she had maybe thouht it was somone else or that she just liked waving but she had and Orihime watched what se was doing, she was in fact surfing. Orihime instantly thought about getting out there and trying it. She had never tried that before but always saw ohers having a go but it was usualy those really cool surf guys that just always made it look so easy when it really wasnt.

Orihime smiled as she heard Ana call to her, of course there were people looking at her probably thinking she was crazy because she had just arrived and waving to people ot at sea. 'No no..i know her well...'' Orihime began to one guy who had seen her entusiastic waving. Orihime gave a nervous laugh before she looked back over to Ana in the sea. She was probably standing out a bit not just because of her waving and calling out but orange hair itself stood out.

Orihime's eyes widened slightly as she saw Ana was oing to catch a wave she smiled watching she had no idea Ana was so good. But then she was hit by the wave and the board went one way and Ana went the other. Orihime's smiled dropped and she looked perplexed ''Uh...ummm..'' she mumbled to herself that had to hurt especially if a wave hit you she knew they could have quite some force and weight on you. ''A-are you ok?'' she called after a silent pause. But shock gripped her when Ana went under and she could no longer her see her, oh god not good. Orihime moved some steps forward the sea coming in and just touching her feet as she waited for Ana to surface and she did to Orihime's relief.

She looked at Ana a she go closer and eventually reached dry land dropping the board and saying how she hadnt got the knack of surfing yet. ''Oh...i didnt even know you'd started to learn...'' she smiled. ''But you are ok right'' she said. 'Oh me...im fine...just soaking up the good weather'' she began. ''And...no i havent...ive never even tried but it looks like good fun'' she said as she walked back up futher on the sand. ''Least there's no trouble to distract this day...well maybe not'' she said knowing that hollows apperred whenever they wanted but so far so good.

I just swallowed some sea water” she said laughing a little, she would be fine, she could swim well enough and thankfully it had not been a huge wave or she would not be all too well at all but seemed she’d caught a small break for the moment. Dropping the board she started asking Orihime some questions. Of course Ana had not figured out yet how to break the news to Orihime and she hoped Ichigo would tell the guys what was going on, in Ana’s mind they all needed to know and train more. “Hm?” she mumbled and looked to the board before rubbing the back of her head “Yea, Ichigo was teaching me… Keigo tried teaching Rangiku and then they made some bet… as boys do. I’m determined though to keep at it and challenge them myself one day” she added determination blazing in her eyes as she smirked and raised a fist as if challenging someone though there was no one but Orihime there. After a moment she sighed “Who am I kidding though Keigo and Ichigo are so good at surfing and I suck… oh, oh it is fun until you fall over and then try wriggle onto the board again but it’s a good challenge, it’s really good for learning balance” Ana said nodding her head and smiled to Orihime “We’ll have to try it sometime, maybe I can get Ichigo and Keigo and the other’s down and we can all do surfing lessons…” she stated trailing off as if trying to picture it before she frowned. “Oh I know, yesterday I could not get into the water at all. Oh did you want to make a sand castle or something with me? I’ve always wanted to make a really big one” which was true as childish as it was Ana enjoys making things and sand was a good source none the less “I have a spot in the shade, then we can hit the water if you like? Oh I have to tell you something too, but first let’s get some shade on us, we can never be too careful with skin like ours” she pointed out and headed for her spot under some shade sitting on her towel and pulled out a water bottle taking some water from it. How would she break the news to Orihime without her freaking out a lot.

Orihime smiled a little surfing sure seemed dangerous now that she had seen Ana almost drown but hey practice makes perfect everyone had to be bad before they became good at something. ''I'd love to at least have a go...'' she began she glanced to some others who started to run onto their boards as they rushed into the sea, was everyone a surfer here she wondered.

Her eyebrows rose as she heard that Ichigo had in fact taught her a little ''He has...wow im gonna ak him to teach me too then...'' she said with enthusiaum before she looked down a little her pink flushing cheeks ''T-that's if he would even want to teach me....and if i can find him'' she said but Rangiku had learned also an Keigo and Ichigo being boys had made a bet sounded about right she smiled at the thought.

''Well i can see if i got the balance then...'' she said although she discreetly looked down a little to her ample chest preying they wouldnt get in he way all that climbing onto boards but she didnt care she'd not let it disrupt her fun. She nodded to Ana's suggestion of getting the whole gang down and surfing now that would be fun.

''Good idea...we can see who's really good at it'' she said as she continued to walk on the hot sand where the sun had been on it all morning letting it slip between her little toes before Ana mentined sand castle building oh how she loved a sand castle ''Oh yeah...not a little one...and im sure they hold contests here for the biggest one too'' she said as she followed Ana to her shaded spot she had found or thy would cook soon with being so pale. Bu Ana's last sentance made her have a breif worry there was something to tell now she had got her thinking what it could be. ''Ok..but is it good news or bad?''she asked as she pulled out a towel from a beach bag she had on her shoulder and laid it out.

The two could practice together! Ana gave a nod of her head before observing the others surfing, they made it look so easy, the jerks. Her attention turned back to Orihime, course Ichigo had taught her Keigo had wanted to teach Rangiku so Ichigo had gotten stuck with teaching her though she was certain Rangiku wished it had been the other way, the thought made her smile a little before she gave Orihime the thumbs up “You should ask him” she encouraged, it was not hard to go up and ask for help with something, Ana was just one of those people who didn’t like asking for help so she avoided it if at all possible. Though seeing Orihime’s later response Ana could not help but frown a little, she wished she could just shake some sense it Orihime and tell her to go for it already and get it over with but when would Orihime ever do that. “I’ll make him teach you” Ana said winking. Ana didn’t get Orihime’s words before she followed her eyes and made a small face “If Rangiku can do it you can too… she’s just as big as you” Ana said indicating how big Rangiku was. Hell Rangiku had tried to steal Ana’s bathing suit that day and put Ana in her one, did not work out all too well. Maybe this time she could avoid Rangiku but she was certain the girl had returned to Soul Society after what had recently happened, meant Keigo would probably go chasing Orihime all day, Ana would have to distract him, she’d seek Rukia out too and Tatsuki she was certain that girl could still strike fear into Keigo. “Oh sand castle competition… I never knew that, we should enter one day… we better practice!” she added wide eyed and looked around to see who else was making sand castles before she smiled and headed for her spot on the beach of course how to break the news to Orihime was something Ana was pondering. As Orihime asked if it was good or bad news Ana paused for a moment and put her bottle down before bitting the side of her lip “Ah… it’s… really bad” Ana stated glancing to the sea before her eyes trailed back to Orihime “But we can have fun and not worry about it” she stated with a small smile though she looked down and sighed. “I was helping Ichigo out the other day with some Hollows and we ran into a Shinigami seeking Ichigo’s help… mind you Ichigo nearly kicked the guys ass but still…” she added frowning before she looked up to Orihime “Soul Society is in trouble…” she paused “Head Captain Yamamoto has gone missing” Ana said as she watched Orihime for a moment “But with our help I know we can get him back and everything will ok again… so let’s get started on this sand castle” she gave Orihime a small smile as she flattened out some of the sand at the end of her towel.

Orihime tried to picture Keigo trying to learn surfing, did he know how to do that she didnt ever remember him being able to he never mentioned it, or was it that he just took the opportunuty to surf with the vuluptuous Rangiku he probably couldnt keep his eyes of her she smirked thinking of his face when he saw Rangiku for the first time ''Oh i can jst see Keigo-San gawping at Rangiku'' she laughed lightly and she knew how she loved to completely tease Ichigo and would of rather had him as a surfing partner she wouldnt be jealous so Orihime told herself. ''Oh i know what Rangku-San is like shes so nice and gives good advice.. she even taught me how you should flirt not that'd i could ever do that to Ichigo'' she suddenky panicked.

''Your right though...ill have to just out with it...walk right up to him and suggest he teach me...'' she nodded liking her plan. Orihime's wild imagination turned to how that lesson might go before she shook her head best not think about it with her making a fool of herself in front of him. She nodded glad to hear that if Rangiku could surf wih her size so could she ''Yeah...ill be fine'' she smiled i argeeance before she watched as Ana flattened some sand to begin their sand castle makng she nugded forwars a little before her smiled dropped hearing it was bad news that she had to tell her.

Orihime frowned a little before she nodded after a pause but she listened in carefully too discover than Ana and Ichigo had infact come across some bad news indeed. Yamamoto was a very powerful shinigami she knew he was greatly admired by many and no one could surpass him he was th strongest so how could he be missing. ''Oh god...'' she began. ''That's definatly not good!'' she added. 'Who or what could have that kind of power to just take him...'' she said as she looked down at the sand in deep thougt ''Soul Society must be in a state..if their's no leader then its weak..this would be a bad time for an attack or war declared on Soul Society' she said as she shook her head in dsbeleif.

The very fact though that Rangiku was giving Orihime ‘love’ advice had her slightly worried. Of course Rangiku was a lovely girl and very passionate she was also very strange and hyperactive at times. “Yea exactly, that’s the spirit” she said wondering if Orihime would actually carry through with it or not and if Ichigo would help her though why would he not, he was always helping people so she was sure this fell under that category. Of course she knew if Rangiku could do it then Orihime could to, they didn’t have to be very good at surfing as Ana had simply found being able to stand on the board when it moved was an accomplishment in itself. “Of course you will and if you need back up I can stand on the beach and cheer you on” she stated before she sat on her towel. Ana shrugged her shoulders, she had no idea who could have taken Yamamoto, she suspected someone who worked in Soul Society personally, it was not easy getting to Yamamoto and she was certain someone had teamed up with an enemy of sorts and assisted in the kidnapping but in all honesty Ana was unsure, there were many possibilities that could be considered but which was the correct one, the answer at present was unclear. “I imagine war has been declared within the society itself. They are so use to order and law, following their leader and doing as they are told, now he is missing, chaos will be at hand and they are all probably pointing fingers at one another, without command chaos breaks out, I simply hope the Captains can keep some form of control and order going.” Ana thought it was going to be a tough time for everyone, how would the Shinigami handle no leader, could they keep control of their society, would they finally start using their brains and common sense. “I don’t see them giving up easily though, they’ll hunt Yamamoto down to the ends of the realms… we can help them in that bit at least” she said smiling a little. She collected some sand and pilled it up “Oh we need water for this to work…” she suddenly said remembering it was one of many tools required to successfully make a sand castle. She looked around for a bucket or something.

Orihime smiled after seeing Ana's strange looking expression ''Yeah, maybe i shouldnt take all her advice i mean some of the things i'd get too embaressed to do around Ichigo'' she laughed it off. Infact she never once outright flirted with anyone let alone Ichigo. But Rangiku did understand her she was a very understanding person and heard you out and supported you none the less.

It was set she would try at this whole surfing thing and if she looked silly then it was Ana they could look silly together. Her concern for the human world and Yamamoto's safety grew, she knew that without Yamamoto things would crash and fall he had authority and gave guidance and organisation. ''I hopw everyone in Soul Society are ok'' she began as he looked to the sand a small frown appearing. She could imgine the chos that could erupt from all of this she wondered how this could all happen so quickly and now everyone was just sitting sucks waiting for something much bigger to come along most probably.

Orihime nodded ''Yeah...i mean Soul Society are a highly intelligant race of beings...and they must of gone through much worse right'' she said. They must of had more worries and scares but then again had Yamamoto ever been taken right from under their noses ever before.

Trying to put it to the back of her mind she smiled ''Yeah, water...'' she began as she too scanned around for a bucket. ''Ah-ha'' she said pulling one from her beach bag she had with her, Rangiku had once tauht her how to use her chest like a bucket to carry water of course Ichigo gave Rangiku a telling off for teaching Orihime such a thing it made her smile a little remembering it. ''Lets go get some Ana!'' she said as she stood up walking down the beach.
