300+ (30+) // STRAIGHT // SHINIGAMI // FUGITIVE (PREVIOUSLY: CAPTAIN OF THE 5TH DIVISION, KING OF HUECO MUNDO)
"The Aizen Sousuke you knew never existed to begin with."
PERSONALITY
Once seen as a very kind, perhaps even overly kind, captain of Soul Society, who was well-respected and looked up to by many, both low-ranking Shinigami and captain alike, he eventually revealed to everyone his true manipulative and far more sinister nature. That person was nothing more than a front he adopted in order to fool those around him, marking him as a clever and cautious strategist as well as a master of deception. Truthfully, he cares very little for his subordinates, though he does show favoritism where he sees fit, and he is readily willing to use almost anyone to achieve his ultimate goals. In fact, he will stop at nothing to see his selfish ambitions fulfilled. And, as a result of his ridiculous level of arrogance (further propelled forward by his seemingly endless talent and intellect), these ambitions are very high, with his true goal to overthrow the Soul King and thereby place himself in complete control over everyone and everything.
A true Machiavellian, he has almost no trace of a conscience, and there is nothing he enjoys more than playing mind games and toying with both his underlings and his opponents.
Of course, he is also a skilled conversationalist, and a polite, soft-spoken intellectual, often referring to people by either their full or given names, and foregoing any honorifics. During any form of confrontation, he takes a casual, uncaring approach, taking part in conversation with his opponents and even drawing out small talk, which often infuriates those he is talking to, because it seems he's not taking them seriously. Which, to be honest, he probably isn't. It has been said by more than one person that he "talks too much" and that they are "sick of listening" to him.
He has an eternally rigid façade, filled with all pleasantries and nonchalance, which next to no one can see through, and he rarely shows any sign of emotion, be it caring, alarm or distress, and he has a knack for planning out entire situations well in advance. However, it has been proven on several occasions that Ichimaru Gin is one of the few people who is actually able to read him. And, more than this, he may in fact yearn to feel nothing, as is suggested both by his substantial affiliation with the "heartless" Hollow, his insistence that both dependency and the presence of a conscience are little more than weaknesses, his subtle signs of emotion that he clearly represses behind his careless mask, and the fact that Gin stated, when his heart was removed and nothing but a hole was left in his chest, he would finally get what he always wanted.

INTERESTING FACTS
His sword, Kyouka Suigetsu, was lost after his battle with Ichigo, but little known to those around him, he did not actually lose the abilities that went along with it. It's therefore likely he maintained his other powers on top of the Kanzen Saimin (Complete Hypnosis), and therefore his virtually flawless illusions are something he can still pull of with the single command "Shatter". Perhaps even without any command at all, actually. Who really can say where his abilities stand now?
While the Complete Hypnosis was the ability of his Shikai, the powers of his Bankai were never revealed. However, since he maintained the powers of his Shikai, it is easy to imagine he also possesses the abilities of his Bankai, so, whatever those may be...he has yet another trick up his sleeve.
That being said, his battle data can be summed up here: "Offense (100), Defense (90), Mobility (90), Kidou/Reiatsu (100), Intelligence (100), Physical Strength (80)."
Abilities aside, am interesting fact about Aizen is that, when Ichigo was finally able to touch his sword, and feel the state of his soul, he felt nothing but loneliness emanating from him. After the loss of his Espada army, and the betrayal by the one person who had always been at his side, and able to see past his emotionless façade, he was left with nothing and no one, and when this reality finally came shattering to the forefront of his inner desires, the Hougyoku made it possible for him to be defeated and thereby imprisoned. Whether Aizen actually realized this change in himself is unlikely, and he therefore blames the Hougyoku as well, for turning on him at the last minute and allowing him to lose a battle to a mere human. Of course, if left up to him and his own abilities, this never could have taken place.
FAMILY
• Mother - Aizen Kagami (deceased, and probably floating around Soul Society somewhere)
• Father - Aizen Yoro (deceased, same as mother)
RELATIONSHIPS WITH A FEW MEMBERS
• Kurosaki Ichigo - Their history sort of speaks for itself. At a time, Aizen took a keen interest in him, viewing his very existence as an experiment of sorts, and he actively watched him grow, and guided him and each battle he fought exactly as he wished. He was, after all, the perfect case study, one of the most fascinating individuals he had ever seen, and, with each growth in power, he only intrigued Aizen more and more. However, after the defeat at the hands of this same experiment, Aizen has had trouble coming to terms with the fact that he, of all people, a being of infinite power, lost to the hands of a mere human. Granted, a human with the blood of both a Shinigami and a Quincy, and a Hollow residing within him, but a human nonetheless. Needless to say, he managed to injure Aizen's pride, and he hasn't forgiven him for it.
• Kurosaki/Shiba Isshin - Well...let's keep this simple, shall we, and just say the two don't get along. Not that Aizen necessarily has anything personal against the man, but it so happens that Isshin has no tolerance for him whatsoever, happens to hate his very guts, and that makes it so frightfully difficult to get on well with a person.
• Inoue Orihime - He took a keen interest in her and her abilities, and used her and the uncertainty behind her powers as a pivotal piece in his plans to unsettle Soul Society. Though he still views her as a fascinating individual, with intriguing powers, great personal strength, and an inner fire that's admirable in a human of such little fighting caliber, he also doesn't admittedly view her as anything more than a little pawn in his games.
• Shoshi Ana - Like Orihime, he found that Ana is also a human girl gifted with exceptional powers, and he used her alongside Inoue Orihime in his scheming. Her disposition, he observed, is slightly more rebellious and headstrong than the other little girl, but she also doesn't sit in his mind as anything more than a pawn.
• Matsumoto Rangiku - As it happens, he absolutely despises her. In the past, he saw her as an amusing enough person, even pleasant company, and he was always intrigued by and curious of the relationship she shared with Gin, the one Gin seemed intent on downplaying at any inquiry. However, following the betrayal and knowing full-well the part Matsumoto played in it, he developed a deep sense of loathing for the woman, and places all of the blame on her, wishing he could have killed her when he had the chance. Not that she needs to know any of this straightaway, of course. That would be most unwise.
THE STORY SO FAR
Aizen Sousuke was born on the 29th of May in the Human World, as a child prodigy with a strong memory and a clear gift for manipulation and the art of deception. From a young age, his intellect far surpassed his peers, and it didn't take long for him to notice, nor did it take long for him to begin using these abilities to his own advantage. In fact, the first two people he ever deceived and toyed with were his parents, and he never once let on just how deep his intelligence ran, or how gifted he truly was.
In fact, the very arrogance that came to be characteristic of him could be attributed to his parents, his upbringing. They showered him with affection from an early age, a pair of kind, blinded fools who gave in to his every whim and could never even entertain the thought that they were responsible for the spoiled nature in the child they had raised. For that matter, they couldn't even see any trace of this character--he watched his actions carefully in their presence, and never once displayed for them a person much unlike the guise he would later adopt during his captaincy in the Gotei 13. Thus, he placed a mask upon his exterior early on, guarding all those around him from the true, hidden persona beneath.
With the deaths of his parents from an illness when he was in his mid-teens, he allowed his mask to slip, now that he had no one to hold him back, and he began to grow keenly aware of his own sensitivity to the spiritual realm. Of course, he had noticed some years before that he could see the departed souls, Hollow and Shinigami alike, but he never once let on, even to these beings he saw, that he was aware of their presence. Instead, he kept this hidden from the world, as well. Better not to draw too much unwanted attention.
It wasn't long before his manipulative nature became apparent to those around him, the more he utilized it, the more he exploited them, and, without the powers he would later come to develop as a Shinigami, despite his intense levels of spiritual energy, those around him eventually developed a plot to rid themselves of the burden of this man. That is, to have him killed. When the time came--after many failed attempts which he managed to dodge courtesy of his superior intelligence and his ability to plan and maneuver far in advance--and he was in fact murdered, the soul burial performed sent him to Soul Society, due to the fact that he hadn't actually begun committing any of the heinous acts he would later come to be infamous for, and he ended up in one of the lowest districts in Rukongai.
He quickly realized his proficiency in this realm, also, and his uncanny ability to master all areas of study. But living conditions in the lower districts were horrendously unfavorable, and he soon uncovered his gift for illusions, serving as an extension of his manipulative prowess. He wasted no time in improving his lifestyle in this poor district he was subject to. Living in these slums offered him a clear perspective into the corruption of Soul Society's entire system, and his ambitious nature stirred in him a keen desire to make the necessary changes here, to bring some sort of order to this awful excuse for a paradise, and it wasn't long before he determined that no one was better suited to the rule of leader than himself.
But both isolation caused from the severe gap in power and bitterness toward his murderers left him distrustful towards others and with little traces of what conscience he ever had. He grew to care less and less for the lives of others. He came to see them as nothing more than tools, instruments by which he could achieve his own ends, and he effortlessly tossed them aside when it served his own purpose.
To move up in society, he quickly entered the Shin'ou Academy, but he bided his time, playing it safe, as he always had, and he allowed others to see him as a talented, but in no way overly exceptional recruit. He kept his prodigious nature a secret, and moved to begin conducting experiments, some means to sever the gap between Shinigami and Hollow, and some way that he might attain greater power for himself. As it was, he had already reached the limits of Shinigami, and this just wouldn't do. It wasn't enough, not nearly enough, if he planned to overthrow the Soul King and ultimately take control of Soul Society, in order to make the necessary reforms he had been planning.
When he first entered the land of Hueco Mundo, he immediately determined that it was a realm he could overthrow with relative ease, there was opportunity for improvement everywhere he looked, and virtually no one to make that improvement. In fact, it was perfect. He even came to feel a certain connection with the land, far more than he had ever found in Soul Society, for here he could unveil his true nature, embracing much more of himself than ever possible in the world above, and, for once, he didn't have to confine himself to anyone's petty expectations or ever vigilant gaze.
Shortly after, while he was a lieutenant under Hirako Shinji, the new prodigy to enter the 5th Division immediately caught the attention of Aizen. He saw exceptional promise and ambition in the boy, while also exhibiting such ruthlessness that could only match his own. More than this, he found it difficult to ever read him, something he himself had grown particularly skilled at when it came to others, and this only served to further impress him. Therefore, he took Ichimaru Gin under his wing from a young age, and came to believe he saw a bit of himself in the boy. Gin offered yet another opportunity for him to reveal his masked nature, something he never could seem to hide from those slanted eyes, and the two formed a close friendship.
And the rest...is history.
From the role he played in the birth of Kurosaki Ichigo and the Hollow inside him, to his captaincy and then betrayal of Soul Society, to the creation of Visored and Arrancar, his palace of Las Noches in the Hollow World, and then his attempt to create the King's Key in order to enter Reioukyuu and destroy the Soul King, who he has come to view as the greatest threat to his rise in power. Following Gin's betrayal and murder, then Aizen's defeat by Kurosaki Ichigo and the vanishing of his Zanpakutou, he was sentenced to 20,000 years of imprisonment in the 8th and lowest level of the underground prison in Soul Society.
However, through his endlessly cunning tactics, Aizen instead manipulated the situation so he was instead held beneath the 1st Division, and, when he learned of the disappearance of Yamamoto, he wasted no time in taking the opportunity to escape, amidst the chaos that quickly ensued, and saw this as the perfect opportunity to once again make a grab for power in control of Soul Society. However, the rising threats from all directions and reappearances of subordinates he once thought dead have given him pause, and he has determined that it would be wiser to make a move toward reconciling his relationship with the Shinigami, perhaps it could work to his advantage. Therefore, as the pieces begin making their moves, he takes a cautious step back and begins forming new plans, plans to regain their trust, plans which should ultimately work in his favor and help him attain his true end goal.
