Brief Appearance :: The first and most noticeble thing about Ichigo is his bright and spiky somewhat messy orange hair that's sort of grown out a little now that he's older. It means he stands out from the crowd being easily noticed yet it gives him an identity. He usually wears a scowl appearing that he is always angry or moody about something or other. He has dark brown eyes although when using his hollow form his eyes become black and yellow. Ichigo has a muscular build which is due to the physical demands of his job and is a tall guy standing at 5ft 11inch. Ichigo's appearance has caused several people, including Jushiro Ukitake, to notice a similarity to Kaien Shiba, the former lieutenant of the 13th Division.


Brief Personality :: Ichigo's personality is extremely complex and is what makes him who he is. At first glance he is a rough, impolite and quite intimidating kind of guy who loves to fight and cant keep his mouth shut. But that is only at first impressions and there is alot more to him than just being a loud mouthed punk kind of kid.

His personality is as crabby as his star sign showing he can be very cold and brush you off without a care. Ichigo is outspoken, brave, Indifferent, bored, and borderline annoyed and is usually how he acts, alternating with cocky and confrontational when fights are involved, and occasionally extremely irate. He has even said so himself that if someone would pick a fight with him, he cannot help but fight back because of his short temper. He is extremely stubborn and will not let an insult slide by him and will speak his mind not worrying about anyone's perceptions of him.

He appears like a jerk who doesnt care and doesn't really care about what people think, or overly much about people. Because of this it leads to Ichigo being very unapproachable to others and makes it difficult for anyone to talk to him. People are somewhat to a certain extent afraid of him even though he seems to have a laid back esscence about him many admire from afar. He has gained a bad reputation and why hardly anyone talks to him and is where Ichigo differs from everyone's thoughts and perceptions about him, Ichigo is not stupid at all and knows very well that everyone thinks he is not very friendly or intelligent to which he plays up to it purposely, just to prove others wrong and that he is a heck of alot more considerate and intelligent than he appears. He has shown to be a good student keeping up well with his studies just so he can surprise his teacher's thoughts on him being a slacker.

In some cases he doesnt care in the slightest but behind all of this is someone completely different. Ichigo does in fact care about what happens because he cannot just sit back and watch someone get hurt as Rukia has tested before. He is, in his own way, quite caring about people, but not likely to reveal that unless really needed. He will go places he doesn't like for the sake of people he does, check on them if they need it, and go to enormous ends to repay what he believes is a worthwhile debt. He will not let anything happen to his family or friends and will always stand up and defend them.

Ichigo has shown in the series that he can be genuienly compassionate towards someone though it is rare. He used to bring flowers to a little girl to cheer her up after she became a plus and will attempt to comfort his friends who are in distress occasionally even when he knows he is no good at that kind of stuff.

His language in general, matching his behavior, is rough, impolite and usually insulting, even at times when he's being nice. Likewise his respect for anyone is rare and generally has to be earned. Even then getting him to call anyone by their title or politely by their last name if he doesn't want to is a minor miracle. To get him to say something nice or at least positive is surely a big acheivment for whoever that may be. But those who do earn Ichigo's respect or friendship however, earn it entirely. There are people who he respects greatly, and if he considers them a friend, will fight to protect them.

Ichigo's greatest strength is how much he will do to save someone no matter who they are if he thinks that they deserve better then he will stand up for them as he has already defended those not on his side before. He will see a person for who they are and not who they should be or what side they are on and if he thinks someone is being poorly treated he will not be afraid to voice his opinion.

Apart from being a shinigami and getting into fights many people do not see him outside of his shingami job, despite his courage and strength Ichigo is still just a young boy challenging those who are much older and wiser which is often forgotten because of his growth rate in skill. Before he became a soul reaper Ichigo was already a mis-understood guy who was bullied because of his hair colour, he was in fair, vunrable as a child he relied on his mother and did not want to make friends. He is now someone completely different, and in fact someone who appears to not let anyone cross him and be the opposite to the vunerable child he once was.

Ichigo can be a huge show off if he is certain he can beat someone. At the start of the bleach series he is portrayed as very disrespectful and somewhat childish with his attitude. As the series progresses there is a noticable change in him as he begins to gain the much needed battle experiance he needs in order to win his fights. He is picking up and learning from his enemies and his friends in the way which has started to have an effect on his behaviour. Ichigo is growing up and out of his ways. Later on in both the manga and the bleach series it shows he is very quickly maturing and is losing that rebellious attitude he used to have and can tolerate annoyances and becoming a resposible young man.

Ichigo has probably got the grumpy and outcasted image perfect and although he has more caring side to him, Ichigo's mean and nasty act isnt completely a front and some of it true, he of all people have many reasons to push people away, he very much could of done completely but lets his guard down to some of his friends occaionally if in the right mood.

Despite what Ichigo would want others to believe, he is definatly a very protective and territorial person. He rushes into absolutely anything if he knows someone is in trouble. He is more of an actions speak louder kind of person, where he much prefers to actually do something rather than think and come up with a stratagy. Obervations has never really been his strongest point and he has the most stubborn approach to fighting his opponants never giving up never stopping because his opponants are stronger than he is. His actions are usually considered as reckless and that he is actively seeking to get himself killed but it is not the case nor is it what he plans up or wants to do, he just dives into fights on instinct to help a friend. Ichigo cannot tolerate people's annoyances and his enemies know so, they will torment him however after much time he has become able to block out nonsense like this and acts calmer and more rationally in fights now that he3 has gained some more expeirance. He does however surprise people with what he can do or is capable of. Most consider him to be acting foolishly running at his enemies and not having any back up or anything to support his reckless actions when he in fact does and is more than capable of defeating his enemies providing he is not distracted.

He also has a complicated honour when he fights he thinks things should be fair and does not want anyone else to fight his battles for him his hollow is one example and is why he has a hatred for him interfering. If his hollow takes over and causes damage to his enemy then he will not consider it a win because he was not in control. If someone is being attacked friend or foe, when there is no real reason for them to do so he will step in and defend whoever that may be.

His strongest points are often his most vulnerable at the same time. Ichigo's strength of will and reckless need to save anything that breathes leaves him with a huge blind spot and a weakness, he forgets not everyone wants or even needs saving. In his headstrong race to protect his friends, he often forgets to consider what exactly he's doing and about the people he's protecting. He's struggling to save everyone on top of his own problems and yet doesnt care or acknowledge that he is having trouble doing so, in the end he will probably run himself right down with exhaustion and being highly critical and harsh on himself if he fails anyone. He is completely forgetting about those who can save themselves, or save him. This is the result of him failing to protect his mother feeling he has a duty to stop what happened to him happening to anyone else.

Something that is unexpected from Ichigo is how he can quickly become embarrsed or nervous round immoderately dressed women to which Yoruichi Shihouin has discovered and Matsumoto Rangiku have teased him for claiming that he does not look as innocent as he seems. Ichigo can take on the toughest of rivals and enemies yet he is so startled by Yoruichi and Matsumoto's taunts, once discovered it becomes a frequent torment on Ichigo's side.

One thing Ichigo has a talent for apart from being a shinigami is that he can argue to the death with anyone and one person in paticular is Kuchiki Rukia as they can disagree on everything and say some pretty horrific things to one another but amazingly the two still are very good friends and have a mutual understanding of how the other thinks or will act. Rukia understands Ichigo completely and can often bring him out of his down moods with some shock tactics. Ichigo has encountered many different characters throughout the course of the series, ranging from family, friends and allies, to rivals and enemies. His interactions with these characters have lead to some strong bonds and rivalries being formed. Some of these friendships have been ongoing since childhood, while others have only developed during the series. Ichigo has not shown any romantic feelings towards any character in the series and is highly unlikly to. Ichigo is incredibly dense and naive when it comes to the subject of girls. He can hardly pick up on a strong spirit energy let alone if he has an admirer, he is completely hopeless and girls would get more chance of getting a brick wall to realise than him. It seems as though Ichigo has detatched himself from those kinds of things.

However, despite this he does seem to get along with females more so than males in the series. But it should be noted that he does have a huge amount of respect for Inoue Orihime and its clear he believes she is a good person. She brings out his protective nature more so than any other character. Ichigo was extremely harsh on himself when Orihime was injured by an Espada because his hollow was causing problems for him. It was then that Ichigo pledged to her and made a solid promise to never let anyone hurt her again, after that he has been more than willing to throw himself in front of attacks and take them for her.

Most recently in the Bleach series it becomes more clear how much of a very dark and troubled person Ichigo is, he's messed up right from the start but is learning as he goes. He isnt your typical hero and has issues with keeping his sanity and trusting others yet still has the will to save anyone in trouble.
Because of Ichigo's rough or impolite manner he has a problem with authority and doesnt respect his uppers like a student to a teacher. He is usually quite disrespectful towards those older than him like Yamamoto the captain of the 1st division. Ichigo tries to remain a normal teenager not crossing his double lives.Despite Ichigo being mean or threatening and rough he is a well rounded and very endearing character that has flaws aswell as strengths and will continued to learn about his mistakes.

Zanpakutou-'Soul Slayer'(name and ability) ::

Zangetsu (always released in shikai)

Zangetsu's is largely used for melee combat but possesses one known special ability.
Getsuga Tensho "Piercer of Heaven"
At the instant of the slash, Zangetsu absorbs his spiritual energy and releases highly condensed spiritual energy at the tip of the blade, magnifying the attack which sends a huge wave of energy at his opponants causing damage. This slash takes the form of a crescent moon or in the shape of a wave. Ichigo uses this ability without knowing its name several times but masters the technique later on during his Bankai training. As stated by Zangetsu, knowing the name of an attack heightens its power compared to its strength when the wielder does not know its name. His Getsuga Tensho is a powerful technique with great force, capable of causing large-scale damage and destruction after it tore down buildings and cuts through almost anything. While it is currently the only attack Ichigo knows from Zangetsu, Ichigo has used this technique in several clever different manners, such as striking the ground to create an omnidirectional blast to knock away incoming attacks or slashing at the ground to upturn it and crush everything in its path.

The Shikai form of Zangetsu looks like an oversized cleaver rather than a formal "katana". He has no proper hilt; what Ichigo holds is the cloth-wrapped tang. The sword is as tall as Ichigo is, and has a black blade with a silver edge. Ichigo's Zangetsu has changed shape it being doubled in size and more curved at the edges. When in combat, the cloth falls away when necessary and also be used to swing the weapon like a flail and toss it at opponents for mid-range combat, but this is rarely done. The cloth also can be done to wrap up wounds, as Ichigo does during his fight with Ikkaku Madarame, but this is also done rarely. Ichigo has also on more than one occasion used Zangetsu's wide blade as a shield from incoming attacks. Unlike most Zanpakuto which can be sealed into their original form, Zangetsu is always in its Shikai form. Yoruichi has stated that his Zanpakuto is a full-time released form type because of Ichigo's vast but uncontrollable spiritual energy upon generation of it, implying that it is simply a type of Zanpakuto that without proper control of his spiritual energy, once in Shikai form, it remains in its said state.

Bankai

Tensa Zangetsu

Ichigo has already acheived his bankai in just 3 days which normally takes years. Ichigo's bankai is considered completely out of the ordinary for any Zanpakuto. Unlike most Bankai forms, which usually create some sort of massive creature or effect, Ichigo's Bankai actually shrinks his sword down with a completely black blade instead. The cross guard has four prongs bent out to form the shape of the manji (which is the kanji for "ban," meaning "full", as in "full release"). The blade itself can endure even the strongest of attacks, making it quite effective in blocking and deflecting incoming attacks; it can even withstand getting crushed by force. Instead of the cloth his Shikai form had, a short length of chain with a broken link at the end hangs from the base of the hilt. In addition to his sword, Ichigo's robe is replaced with a long-sleeved, floor-length black coat with red lining that is closed at his chest by a seris of overlapping crosses, then left to flare out into split ragged ends, much like that of Zangetsu himself. This coat is part of Ichigo's Bankai and the damage it can take is directly proportionate to the remaining strength and level of Ichigo's Reiatsu

Enhanced Getsuga Tensho:
Tensa Zangetsu retains the use of Getsuga Tensho and can be used in the same manners, but can be used in an enhanced form. When used in Bankai, these potent blasts are black with a red outline and their path can be controlled, with explosively augmented power and speed. During Byakuya Kuchiki's fight with Ichigo, he refers to this attack as a "Black Getsuga" referring to the attack's darkened color. Ichigo has stated that the Black Getsuga was originally Hollow Ichigo's technique, and has been proven as Ichigo had no knowledge of it during his fight with Byakuya Kuchiki, using the original Getsuga when in Bankai, and Hollow Ichigo stated that all Ichigo was doing when he used the technique was copying his inner Hollow. Ichigo can also keep Getsuga Tensho within his zanpakuto to augment his sword swings.

Hyper-Speed Combat: Ichigo takes all the power of his Bankai and compresses it into a small, condensed form. Then, he uses the power of his Bankai to perform high-speed combat. His new speed is so great, that it also enhances his Flash Step prowess and allows him to create dozens of afterimages to confuse his opponent.

Enhanced Strength: Ichigo's Bankai also allows him to further enhance his natural great strength and add to Ichigo's huge stamina due to his high spirit energy as shown from how effortlessly he blocked a punch from Yammy Riyalgo, an Espada known primarily for his immense strength and treble the size of Ichigo. He is strong enough to cut through Yammy's Hierro (steel skin)with relative ease. The sudden boost in strength upon releasing allows Ichigo to break free from any attack that binds him and prevents him from moving.

Enhanced Spiritual Power: His reiatsu is so intense and rough as well as thick and heavy that it can suffocate Humans just by being in the general vicinity of his released Bankai. Ichigo's reiatsu was solid in his Bankai despite him only recently acquiring it. In addition, his already immense spiritual energy has grandly and explosively increased, and now has a deep black spiritual energy with a crimson outline. It has come to a point where the red-outlined black energy emanates off of Ichigo's body when his spiritual pressure is exerted, replacing his blue aura. Ever since Ichigo defeated his inner Hollow and affirming his place as a Vizard, he produces a black aura with a red outline that surrounds him as he initiates Bankai, rather than a white aura that shoots high into the sky.

Enhanced Bankai Duration: Furthermore, the fact that all of his energy is "compressed" means that usage of his Bankai doesn't expel as much spiritual power as other Bankai from the point of activation, allowing him to use Tensa Zangetsu at a much longer duration than any other Bankai users of his level. Ichigo's spirit energy can be sense so easily by almost anyone he has a stealth weakness so he cannot hide from his enemies, it also means that his enemies can sense how much reiatsu he has and if it is fluctuating like when his hollow attempts to take over.

Vizard

Despite being a sub shinigami Ichigo's type of power is more closely related to the vizards making him offically one of them. Ichigo has had great stuggles in trying to gain and use his hollows' power to his own accord. After he went to the vizards for help he is now fully capble of retaining is hollow and using his power ontop of his own which helped him defeat some of the espada.
Ichigo's Hollow mask manifests in the appearance of what could best be described as a menacing skull. The mask is white and originally had only three dark red stripes on the left side, and has since increased in number. The stripes have changed in thickness after he subjugated his inner Hollow. It eventually covers almost the entirety of the mask's left half during his third battle with Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. While pure white on the right side, the mask possesses a total of ten red stripes (a total of ten can be seen during his last fight with Ulquiorra) spread across three areas on the left side of his mask. In the aftermath of his victory over Ulquiorra Cifer, Ichigo's mask has changed again, as seen when he faces off against a released Yammy Riyalgo. Where his mask once had a series of thick red-black stripes that covered almost the entire left half of his mask, there are now only four thick black stripes that appear to emerge outwards from the widened eye-holes of his mask and either disappear into both sides of the lower jaw or travel past the very top of the mask itself.

The Hollow mask was originally a sign of Ichigo's possession by the Hollow within him, but after his training with the Vizard, it has become an indication that he is merely utilizing his Hollow powers. To access Hollow Ichigo's power, Ichigo must summon the mask onto his face, which is normally done by placing one of his hands over his face and concentrating spiritual matter on it in order to manifest the mask (previously it had appeared on its own before he mastered the Hollow within him), summoning the mask in a "ripping" fashion. With the mask in place, Ichigo has access to increased physical enhancements (although most of the other Vizard have been able to shift the position of the mask while apparently still retaining the abilities of their Hollowfied state as well as using general Hollow abilities neither has Ichigo been shown capable of doing).

Small Bio ::Ichigo was born on July 15th, as the son of Masaki and Isshia Kurosaki, 15 years before he became a Shinigami. His sisters Karin Kurosaki and Yuzu Kurosaki were born a few years later. When he was four, Ichigo joined a karate dojo, where he met and befriended Tatsuki Arisawa. Tatsuki beat Ichigo in every match they had. Tatsuki would also help Ichigo if he was being picked on by bullies and cheer him up if he was upset.

Ichigo was able to see Pluses for as long as he could remember. He could see them so clearly that, as a child, he could not tell the living from the dead. This resulted in him appearing to other people to be looking at deserted places and talking to himself. This caused people to say that he could see ghosts, though when Tatsuki Arisawa asked him about this, he denied being able to see them.

On June 17th, when Ichigo was nine years old, he and his mother were walking home alongside one of Karakura Town's rivers; which was swollen from heavy rain. Ichigo saw a girl near the river and thought that she was about to jump into it. Unable to tell the difference between ghosts and living people, Ichigo ran towards her to stop her, unaware that the girl was the lure of the Hollow Grand Fisher. Masaki tried to stop him, but he did not listen. After failing to grab hold of the girl, Ichigo lost consciousness for a time. When he awoke, Masaki was lying on top of him, covered in blood. Starting the day after Masaki's death, Ichigo repeatedly skipped school to go to the riverbank where Masaki died. Tatsuki found him there, where he would stay from morning until night, wandering along the bank as if searching for his mother.

When Ichigo was twelve, prior to the Clinic opening, he answered the door to find a girl with her brother on her back. He had been in a car accident and was covered in blood. The clinic did not have the equipment necessary to save him and he died before an ambulance arrived to transfer him to Karakura Hospital. He remebered sitting with the girl trying to comfort her as she cried and it brought back all his distant memories of Masaki. Sometime later, he learned that the girl was Orihime Inoue.

Ichigo had just entered his teens and went to Mashiba junior High School. At this point Ichigo seemed to of gotten his punk like reputation and the start of his thug perceptions. During this time, Ichigo had finally defeated Tatsuki in a karate match and had not had another match with her since. Ichigo regularly got into fights with thugs, due to the unusual color of his hair. During one of these fights he protected Yasutora Sado from a gang. When the thugs later abducted Chad, Ichigo found them and knocked out their leader. He used the leader of that gang's own phone to ring for an ambulance for each of the five thugs, and then beat all of them. After Chad was freed they made a pact to protect and fight for each other, they have remained as friends ever since.

Shortly before Ichigo turned 15 and became a Shinigami, he and Chad began attending Karakura High School, and their reputations preceded them. During a fight with a gang led by Reiichi Ôshima, Ichigo and Chad met Keigo Asano and Mizuiro Kojima, saving the former in the process. While Keigo was initially afraid of Ichigo and Chad, both he and Mizuiro later became friends with them.

Once he became a shinigami Ichigo's life pretty much changed completely and he took on new challenges having to save lives of many people. He is since then growing in skills and determination. During the two years that have passed Ichigo has trainned to gain his hollow's power he also attained a job although doesnt attend very often.

Ichigo scowled at Memmedir while he was grinning away, but a small smirk creeped over his face when Memmedir's now two seperate half attack began to swirl round. ''Slow aint ya?'' he said having the time to say that because he knew he could easily escape that to which he did with a flash step but it wasnt really pushing his bankai's limits to what it can really do so far.

Ichigo made a reappearance away from the fire attack as it moved into a ball of flames luckily him not inside of it but he had been quick enough to escape it. Ichigo grew suspicious as he spotted Memmedir push off into the ash and disappear. ''Where d'ya think your going your going!!'' he said but seeing the faint red glow made Ichigo sigh ''What now...'' he said unenthusuatically.
Ichigo watched as the fireball launched at him, he watched it for a split second and then made a speedy flash step to escape the fire and spotted the cero. Ichigo smirked before he made several fast flash steps easily avoiding them all him being confident he would avoid any attacks by now. He focused on the surrounding ash cloud knowing that Memmedir was hiding out ready to strike. ''Quit playing stupid games!'' he snapped before looking around keeping his guard up all the time preparing for anything sudden.
