[Kurosaki Isshin]

The sounds of Karakura town was all that Isshin could hear, it was a kind of peace the sounds of birds and the odd person walking along or small children laughing it was Isshin's kind of peace it was nice for this town the have that a town that was so filled with pain alot a town that had been attacked by hollows and had dealt with so much havoc could still be this normal and calm, well for now at least.

His children, well they were more grown up now were out busy with their own lives and it was nice to come out into the town. He had walked around Karakura maybe he'd swing by Urahara's place he hadnt seen his old friend in a while and on his way he passed the cemetary he looked at the entrance and then turned and walked towards the place.

He looked around, had more headstones been added the place seemed crowded that was not good but he looked for one headstone in paticular and he smiled when he spotted it. He stopped in front and see the flowers at thw base of the stone still in tact, well his wife had to had fresh flowers now.

Ichigo sat at his desk in Karakura high school not long awaiting the moment where he could escape the droning of a teacher going on but it was less than 5 minuites to go, oh how the last seconds dragged! he had been busy studying up for all his up and coming exams it was his last year as a senior and the next thing was the possibilty of university yeah right like he'd get into that or he could just stick at his part time job and his other job which wasnt really a proper kind of job but one that was more full time! The bell signalling the end of school had alarmed and a swarm of high school kids came bustling out into the hallways that in itself was a task trying to actually get out of that place.

Ichigo said his goodbyes to his friends before he walked outside and down the path to his home where he knew he'd be greeted by a not so friendly yell from his dad followed by his sisters having their input yeah that was his family but hell he wouldnt change them at all. Just when it seemed like that was how his afternoon was going to go he stopped on his way home to see someone he didnt think he'd see until he reached home. ''Dad?'' Ichigo began. He sighed seeing where he was he knew his dad was a complete goof but man did he hate seeing him upset. Ichigo approached the cemetary the errie headstones of course didnt help but his mother's headstone still brought some hapiness to him.

He looked at the flowers assuming Isshin had placed them there just now or someone had from the family. ''Hey Dad...you alright?'' he asked him as he stood next to him in front of the headstone reading his mother's name on that thing still made him frown and to this day it still didnt seem right, her name someone so full of life to be written in a place like this. He looked to Isshin awaiting his response it was a little unlike him to be here this time of year the anniversary of Masaki's death had passed a few months ago but he guessed Isshin just had to come here he didnt really need a reason as did any of them he understood.

Isshin smiled gently as he stared at Masaki's gravestone before his smile grew he sensed reaitsu that he recognised well it was his son no doubt he knew that kind of energy anywhere. He kept his eyes on the headstone as Ichigo approched. ''Good day son?'' he asked before he laughed ''Oh that didnt sound like me then did it'' he chuckled away. Instead he reached up towards Ichigo's back and pulled him into a headlock ''I should pummel you for distubing my quiet time more like!'' he grinned before he released Ichigo and his face went serious.

''Oh im fine...you dont need to worry about me Ichigo...'' he reassured him before he watched Ichigo's expression ''Dont give me that look now...and dont say what look that one right now...the one that says im worried about you but im not gonna actually say i am'' he smirked. ''Doesnt it still seem strange without her even now'' he suddenly asked Ichigo. ''How many years has it been now...'' he sighed. ''She'd be pleased about you...if she saw you all grown up she always did say you'd grow tall and be like me'' he said but he knew that might hit a nerve of his but he liked seeing Ichigo' rections at least!

Ichigo looked at Isshin with some worry especially when he asked if he had a good day, that wasnt like him ''What!?'' Ichigo said confused before Isshin had infact said how that wasnt like him before the real Isshin came out and he had dragged him into a headlock which Ichigo tried to struggle agasint but wasnt moving anywhere in the end he just gave up and sighed before he was released. He stepped back a bit and watched Isshin go all serious, oh he definalty knew something was up.

Ichigo nodded when he went on to say how it still didnt seem right Masaki had passed on, well it didnt seem fair in the slightest and Ichigo was angry that both and Isshin had allowed this to happen they were both capable to defending someone from a hollow yet someone so precious was taken by a hollow. But it was a long time ago and now it was just a distant memory he barely talked about his mother in fact he wouldnt even tell Isshin how much he missed her.

Ichigo looked to Isshin as he said his mother would be pleased to see him now it would be strange because his mother only knew of him when he was much younger and pretty much a wimp or a crybaby he was far from that now so it would be interesting to see what she'd say to him now. Probably something like he's a whiner really when he's trying to keep his cool! oh he could see it now, he smirked a little. ''She'll never be forgotten you know that...besides i bet she's glad were all doing ok and getting back on track'' he said.

Isshin grinned towards his son before he looked at the headstone once more ''Oh i could hear her now...look at this family without me'' he began. He looked towards him ''She'd be proud of you, Ichigo'' he said ''But dont think you'll hear me say that again!'' he laughed. Everytime he came here his past memories flooded his mind even now it was clear and fresh in his mind as if she was here yesturday he wondered if anything would of been different if Masaki was still here would he be able to leave his shinigami life behind she'd of probably calmed Ichigo down and he wouldnt of turned to gangs for starters. But things had turned out this way and he had done his best to make his children a credit to him even if it had been a somewhat struggle they all still had morals. ''I reckon she'd be teasing you about all the girls you bring home'' Isshin snickered childishly he knew it would get a reaction out of him, but he had brought it up because he had burning question he wanted to ask him. ''Ive been hearing alot of things you know...about you and Orihime..'' he smirked at the end of his sentance. He had heard from a few people some of those being Ichigo's friends that he and the lovely Inoue Orihime were potentially dating it was his son so he was concerned, no scratch that he was just nosey! but he did want to know on a serious note because when you started dating someone especially if your a substitute shinigami things could have a possiblity of getting complicated he should know the very same thing happened to him, a woman distracted him from his duties that woman happened to his late wife Masaki.

Ichigo nodded quickly as Isshin said he knew Masaki would be asking what had happened to the family since, he could hear her now telling Isshin to get his act together and for him to stop his smoking habit and she'd probably tell Ichigo himself to lighten up. Ichigo however looked shocked as Isshin spoke of being proud of him had he ever heard that from Isshin? he had to think and try and recall a time nope not that he could ever remember if he had then Ichigo had forgotten it. But it brought a small smile to his face yeah he sure wasnt going to hear those words again. ''It's ok Dad...you dont have to tell me that i already know you are'' he smirked.

He too always wondered what life would be like if his mother was still around if she was at home there to greet him everytime he came home from work. It would be weird having her around but something he very much wanted and needed. He probably wouldnt of turned to a life of violence and he probably wouldnt of got the big i dont care attitude if she was still here because she made him feel cared for even if he didnt admit it he would tell her everything in fact he would of told her about becoming a shinigami and try and off load his problems. But things werent like that they were different, not worse but different his dad had done a good job considering he had gone through a loss of his wife.

Ichigo was lost in thought until he heard a comment about what would his mother say about all the girls he had brought him. Ichigo looked towards Isshin like he had just insulted him ''Excuse me!'' he began before he sighed hearing Isshin's chuckling before he sweatdropped. ''Idiot'' he thought. ''So what i bring girls home its not like its anything other than school related or shinigami stuff!'' Ichigo nodded at his words until Isshin brought up one girl in paticular, Orihime. ''Oh i see where this is going now!'' Ichigo said but he listened in but not for long because he jumped to his defence as soon as he mentioned he heard alot of things, oh he was so nosey. ''No...comment!'' Ichigo sternly said.

Of course Isshin never said what e really thought he knew it in his mind though that his son was someone to be proud of there were many good qualities in him as there were not so good but it sounded familiar Isshin remembered being just like Ichigo at his age so it was passed down perhaps.

He did not want the same future he had for Ichigo becoming a shinigami at an early age it ruled his life once and it became a duty well before he could live a normal life but he could see Ichigo lived to protect so it seemed he was at his happiest when he knew he could keep others safe.

Isshin instantly chuckled at Ichigo's reaction to a personal question but oh how he loved teasing him about such a subject of course Ichigo had brought girls back with him plenty of times through school but it had always been an opportunity to spy on him. He nodded ''Oh of course school related'' he winked before he laughed further. But Ichigo's 'no comment' ''Ho ho hooo!'' he cooed. ''No comment is that because it is true....'' he smirked before he elbowed Ichigo. ''Dont worry your secrets safe with me...'' he continued. He laughed a little more before he went serious ''I hope you treat that girl well....she's gorgeous Ichigo lucky you eh'' he said. ''Dont let your job and your personal life cross...ever...if thats one bit of advice i could say its that...i know what thats like'' he said.

Ichigo knew there were probably loads of things Isshin was hiding from him things that could well effect him in later life or change his behaviour or way of thinking he knew he was probably only doing so because it was better off to not know until he was ready or in the right mind set to deal with some big news.

Ichigo sighed at his dad' chuckled, he'd choke if he wasnt careful. Ichigo only had an irritated look on his face as Isshin took some jibes at him. Ichigo's scowl only grew the more Isshin teased him ''Shut up!! its none of your business is what no comment means'' he said. He only rolled his eyes to Isshin declaring his secret was safe before he suddenly went serious on him. Ichigo unfolded his arms and listened in as he was telling him to treat Orihime right he frowned he did that anyway, well he hoped he did. But this advice Isshin gave him made him look more serious aswell. Why did he get the feeling he had made that mistake of letting his double life cross over somehow. ''I wont'' Ichigo said.

Isshn's smile only grew wider with anticipation hoping his son would spill out some truth there was noway Ichigo could get someone like Orihime of course when she had spoke to him and confessed he found it hard to beleive but he could see why Orihime admired Ichigo he knew of her abusive parents and how she had suffered violence only for Ichigo to do the opposite and protect her from harm. ''Well she loves you...you should know that...or do you already hmmm!!'' he said on a more serious notecmaybe he had just put his foot in it there and just told Ichigo something he had no clue about, oops.

Isshin had of course learned the hard way on how overlaping your private life with your proffesional and highly dangerous job had its concequences. Of course Masaki was human and knew of his shinigami status and choosing a human as his wife had its complications in fact it made a big impact on his current life and was why he was who he is today. But he wouldnt change anything he was glad he met her. He suddenly heard Ichigo's last comment and it made him smile ''So there is something going on!!'' he outbursted ''Does this mean your gonna be bringing her round alot and seeing her loads oh it will be so nice to see her about'' he grinned. But he let his grin fade and he nodded ''I wish you luck...both of you'' he smirked he laid down some fresh flowers on Masaki's grave before turning and walking ''Come on.... Yuzu and Karin will be home soon...they'll wonder where we are'' he said.
